Ric was born into a family of musical celebrities in a city bursting at the seams with diversity - Jazz, Rock, Tejano, Country, Reggae, Surf, and Classical filled the airwaves and venues. Before he graduated from High School, he was playing percussion in nearly every genre--performing in clubs and concert halls, from Rockport to San Antonio.

Original songwriters, as well as world music, experimental jazz, and a sea of undefinable sounds opened up constant performing and recording opportunities. Known for his ease at adapting to the needs of whatever band he joins, he has often been called, "Austin's Favorite Drummer." 

As of 2019, Ric has been performing for 40 years, in 80 bands and something like 6,000 shows, and has appeared on 20 albums. 

Though temporarily off the stage, Ric wishes to remind his fans that all his friends and bands are playing every night..."Go Get Some of That!"
